The Art & Science of Note-Taking in a Virtual World
Taking notes during online meetings is a skill that requires both art and science. Unlike in-person meetings, where it's easier to gauge non-verbal cues and stay engaged, virtual meetings can make it challenging to focus and take comprehensive notes.
The lack of physical presence often leads to distractions, making it harder to capture key points accurately.
In summary: our attention is on the note being taken, and not on the rest of the meeting. Personally, I write slower than people talk. Now, this obviously means that the minute I start taking notes, I am falling behind. Do you recognise this, too?
For many of us, typing those notes is even slower - but it's probably easier to read them afterwards 😎
